Mobile Device Email Setup
MPD mobile device email is available for most any smartphone or device capable of Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync. Most Android, Apple, Windows Mobile, and Palm devices can be set up natively. Contact the MPD IT Department for server name and domain name information. Mobile device email access is subject to MPD Human Resources approval and a security policy signature is required.
**NOTES**
Mobile phones need to select all check boxes for SSL encryption and to accept SSL certificates.
Most phone and device automatic configurations will fail and only manually entering the settings will set up the email account. This is due to our mail security system's interference and is to be expected.
Blackberries are not supported because they lack Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync capability. Blackberries rely on a Blackberry Enterprise Server to sync email, calendar, etc and MPD does not own a BES server.
Contact the MPD IT Department for server name and domain name information.
Tablets differ from Tablet PCs; tablets using Apple or Android software can receive email according to this page, and tablet PCs running Windows need to pursue VPN or Virtual Office options. Contact the MPD IT Department for more information.
