Position: Office
Assistant
Overview:
Working under the supervision of the Office Services Manager, an Office
Assistant provides general office support. This is a non-exempt level position,
represented by the bargaining unit.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
§
Professionally administer all incoming phone calls.
§
Ensure all phone calls are redirected accordingly.
§
Greet guest in a professional, friendly and hospitable manner.
§
Organize and deliver legal documents to the Courthouse and Justice
Center.
§
Distribute incoming mail and court documents.
§
Manage the office filing system for closed client files.
§
Perform various clerical duties such as photocopying, faxing, and
collating.
§
Assist in implementing office security and safety procedures.
§
Assists in the ordering, receiving, stocking and distribution of
office supplies.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
§
Must have good command of the English language; oral and written.
§
Punctual.
§
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept
direction on given assignments.
§
Able to work collectively with Office Services associates.
§
Able to lift and carry file boxes approx. 50 lbs and able to climb
up/down on a step stool in the file room.
Education and/or Experience:
§
High school diploma or GED.
§
6 months to 1 year of relevant experience and/or training.
§
Experience in dealing effectively with people of widely divergent
backgrounds.
